Fear Not

Story of the day: Fear Not

“The Bible is full of these “Fear nots” with their accompanying assurances that God will be with us and will certainly care for us.  If we believe these assurances, no enemies and no dangers, whether they are outward or inward, can cause us a moment’s fear or doubt.

We will know that the Lord our God is stronger than any enemy the universe contains, and we will say with the apostle, “If God be for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31b)… The spirit of fear does not belong to Christianity.  It is never enumerated among the fruits of the Spirit.  It is not given to us from God.  On the contrary, it is always condemned as being alien to the whole idea of Christianity, and as coming purely and only from unbelief.

There are many fearful people in the world–but none of them should be Christians.  We’re commanded by God to “fear not.”  Every fear we have must cease.  Being delivered of our fears gives us a great freedom.  Today we shall “fear not.” (Hannah Whitall Smith and Nick Harrison)

Quote of the day:  Author Unknown

“Fear knocked at the door. Faith answered.  No one was there.”

Bible verse of the day:  Romans 8:31

“What then shall we say to these things?  If God is for us, who can be against us?”

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for calming any fears that might try to creep up in my life.  I can find rest and assurance in You that I have nothing to fear.  Thank You for delivering me from any fear and for finding freedom in not fearing things.  I thank You for this blessed day!

In Jesus Name I pray,

Amen
