Story of the day:  I will go

The song I will go, by Starfield popped into my mind early this morning.  It comes after taking a journey with a book yesterday that I was reading.  The song and book are about a journey that a couple made of going where God had asked them to go, regardless of the situations or how hard it may be.  Both the book and the song are about God’s unconditional LOVE that can’t be explained by telling someone or preaching at someone, but simply by loving them.  As I read the book titled the Unexpected Journey, my soul hurt and became convicted of how each of the conversations from all different beliefs systems, came to know Jesus.  It was a simple act of genuine love that had these people in the book from different religions take a second look and want to know Him.  They wanted to know why someone was loving them so much regardless of whatever their circumstance was.  And each person in that book that made the Unexpected Journey, to become a Christ follower, was not because someone gave them a drawn out speech or had to preach to them, but became Christ followers because of the love that someone had shown them.

As I delved deeper into the book, I began to ask myself the question, “Are people seeing God’s Love in my life?”  Is my testimony being shared not by what I am saying, but by simply loving another?  I became convicted, and my heart began to ache, because how many times, have I given in to my flesh and wanted to be selfish and not give that Love away for whatever reason.  Since I can’t do anything about yesterday, I will start today, “I will go, Lord send me, to the world, to the lost and to the hungry”, no matter what the cost is and I will do it from a heart full of love and compassion, I will do it from the LOVE that You share with me, because I can’t do it on my own.  I know that “I will go” means that I will wake up everyday and let go of me and put on Christ.  It means that I am willing to share God’s LOVE with others no matter who they are and where they come from.  It is driven from a passion to know God on a more intimate level and because of a LOVE that I can’t even put into words.  I will go means that I am able to go where He is sending me and to love people no matter where I go.  To be able to say “I will go”,  and to know that kind of LOVE means that I will let God work through me regardless of the situation.  So my prayer God is, “I will go, to the world, to the lost, to the poor and hungry,  take everything I am,  clay within your hands, I will go, I will go, send me.”

Quote of the day:  Thom S. Rainer

“But the main thing is unconditional love, if we are willing to lay down our lives for people, we will see many become followers of Christ.  That’s the kind of witness that will make a difference.  That’s how you will reach people.”

Bible verse of the day:  Ephesians 6:6

“not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.”

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father,

Today as I go and do Your Will for my life, I pray that my passion and love for You continues to grow in my life, changing me every single day.  I want to be your vessel serving You with all that I am and all that You created me to be.   I pray for those that don’t know You, that they too can hear Your Word and will have a heart that is willing.  I pray to go where You send me and to do so with an open heart full of Your Love.  “I will go, to the world, to the lost, to the poor and hungry,  take everything I am,  clay within your hands, I will go, I will go, send me.”

In Jesus Name I pray,

Amen
