God’s Word is our Essential Vitamin

Story of the day:  God’s Word is our Essential Vitamin

My children have gotten into a lifelong habit of taking their vitamins daily.  The vitamins that they take provide the essential ingredients which are necessary for the function of their body.  The benefits of taking vitamins are just like reading God’s Word.

“People who regularly take vitamins do so because of their long-term benefits, not because every time they swallow one of the pills, they feel new strength surging through their bodies.  They have developed a habit of consistently taking vitamins because they have been told that, in the long haul, vitamin supplements are going to have a beneficial effect on their physical health, resistance to disease, and general well-being.

The same is true of reading the Bible.  At times it will have a sudden and intense impact on us.  However, the real value lies in the cumulative effects that long-term exposure to God’s Word will bring to our lives.” Haddon Robinson

Quote of the day:  Keith Miller

“The Bible can change not only a life but an entire lifestyle.”

Bible verse of the day:  Hebrews 4:12

“For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Dear Heavenly Father,

I am so grateful that Your Word is alive in me and that it feeds my soul daily.  You speak to me through Your Word and I find strength and direction every time that I read it.  I praise You for providing all the necessary life skills that are found within Your Word and for sharing it with me.  I thank You for this blessed day!

In Jesus Name I pray,
