Story of the day: Life is a team sport

Family Christian Press writes:

Life is a team sport, and all of us need occasional pats on the back from our teammates and our coaches. As Christians, we are called upon to spread the good news of Christ, and we are also called to spread a message of encouragement and hope to the world. This world can be a difficult place, and countless students may be troubled by the challenges of everyday life. Our task is to become beacons of encouragement.

Each day provides countless opportunities to encourage others and to praise their good works. When we do, we not only spread seeds of joy and happiness, but we also follow the commandments of God’s Holy Word.

Today, look for the good in others and celebrate the good that you find. When you do, you’ll be a powerful force and a worthy servant to your God. [Family Christian Press, Whom will you encourage today? Grand Rapids: Family Christian Press. (2005). pg. 32.]

Quote of the day: John Maxwell

“Encouraging others means helping people, looking for the best in them, and trying to bring out their positive qualities.”

Bible verse of the day: 1 Thessalonians 5:11

“Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, as indeed you are doing.”

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for always encouraging me daily with your word. It is because of your love that I am able to shine in the life of others. Father, make me an encouraging wife, mom, and friend. Help me Father help others find their strength to use their gifts according to your will for their life. I love you and I am thankful for this day!

In Jesus Name I pray,
