Story of the day:  Confession

In The Essential Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson, the cartoon character Calvin says to his tiger friend, Hobbes, “I feel bad that I called Susie names and hurt her feelings.  I’m sorry I did it.”

“Maybe you should apologize to her,” Hobbes suggests.

Calvin ponders this for a moment and replies, “I keep hoping there’s a less obvious solution.”

When we want to restore our relationship with God, we need to remember that he has a liking for the obvious solution.

Quote of the day:  C. FitsSimons Allison

“We need not “sin that grace may abound.” We are sinners and need only to confess that grace may abound.”

Bible verse of the day:  1 John 1:9

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Dear Heavenly Father,

You sent Your Son to live and die in this world for me, and because of this, You know what it means to be human.  You can relate to the times when I am sad, hurt, worried, or fearful.  Most of all, You forgive me when I confess to You in times of weakness.  Father, I place my trust in You for every aspect of my life and with Your Word and the love of Your Son in my heart, may I continue to live Your Will for my life.

In Jesus Name I pray,
