He is your Rescue

Story of the day:  He is Your Rescue

A couple of nights ago, we had some pretty strong storms that came through our area bringing some heavy rains.  Many of the roads began to flood, even the ones that we wouldn’t expect to flood.  My brother, being a policeman, was working this night, and there were many accidents.  One car accident, where a father and daughter had been driving in a brand new car had rounded this curve, and in doing so, did not expect their life to change in an instant.  As they came around the corner, their brand new vehicle hit some unexpected water full force and their vehicle began to take on water.

My brother and his partner were also driving around and waiting for their next call.  While driving, they came upon this car that they could only see half of.  The car was sinking in what used to be a road and now was a mini lake.  My brother and his partner secured a way for the family to get out.  If anyone has ever been in their vehicle when water begins to come in, it comes in pretty fast.  There is little time to contemplate whether you can stay in the vehicle or not.  You have to get out.

My brother and his partner, chest high in water, quickly rescued this father and daughter from the vehicle that they were now trapped in.  The father was reluctant to leave his brand new car, but he ultimately made the choice to go with the policemen.  The policemen pulled them to safety and after doing so, had to run back to where this curve was so that other vehicles wouldn’t end up in the same predicament.  The mother, who was not in the car, quickly arrived to the scene and was very grateful to the policeman for having rescued her family. The daughter, who was around 14, also had nothing but nice things to say and was very grateful to policemen for saving her life.  The policemen risked their life to save another.

Just like the policemen who rescued this family, Jesus is your Rescue.  He comes to your rescue because He loves you so much and to save you from the flooding waters of sin that are in your life.  Jesus has given his life to save yours.  Do you accept his line of rescue?  The choice is yours.

Quote of the day:  Max Lucado

“If there are a thousand steps between us and God, He will take all but one.  He will leave the final one for us.  The choice is ours.”

Bible verse of the day:  Luke 2:11

“For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for rescuing and saving me. My prayer today is for those that need to be rescued by Your Love and Grace.  Father, we all have a choice to make.  I pray for those that are still in their car, while the waters are rising, and have yet to make their decision.  I pray that they choose You so that You can be their Rescue and Savior, and share in a joyous relationship with them.  I thank You for this day!

In Jesus Name I pray,

Amen
