Time, Keeps on Slippin’

sunset.jpg                                                                                                                                                                                             Quote of the day:  Time, Keeps on Slippin’

The older I get the faster time seems to fly by.  When I talk to my kids and they tell me that their day went slowly, I stand amazed because it seems as if I don’t have enough minutes in my day, and as soon as my head hits the pillow it is time to rise again and start another day.

Lloyd Cory once stated that, “Time is significant because it is so rare.  It is completely irretrievable.  You can never repeat it or relive it.  There is no such thing as a literal instant replay.  That appears only on film.  It travels alongside us every day, yet is has eternity wrapped up in it.  Although this is true, time often seems relative, doesn’t it?  For example, two weeks on a vacation is not at all like two weeks on a diet.  Also, some people can stay longer in an hour than others can in a week!  Ben Franklin said of time, “…that is the stuff life is made of.”  Time forms life’s building blocks.  The philosopher William James said, “The great use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it.”

And although time is so very precious, just like the water we drink, some waste it and don’t even realize it.  Take a glance at your life and savor every minute that you have because it’s all that we have at that moment.

Quote of the day:  John Haggai

“Yesterday is a cashed check; tomorrow is a promissory note.  Today is cash in hand so use it–invest it.”

Bible verse of the day:  Psalm 68:19

“Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits, The God of our salvation.  Selah”

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father,

Time is so valuable to me.  Every minute that I am here is time that can be used wisely.  I pray to not waste time by being angry or stressed.  I pray that the time that I have is used with lots of love for others in hopes that a picture of how Your love is demonstrated through me.  I pray for time to be spent wisely with my family. I pray that they can take with them in this life how important and valuable being here with one another and the time that we have together is.  Most importantly I pray to plant into each of them the importance of sharing Your Word and bringing others to Your Saving Grace and to know what an amazing God You are.  I thank You for today.

In Jesus Name I pray,

Amen
