It’s our one year anniversary!!!

Story of the day:  It’s our one year anniversary!!!

God is so amazing!!  Quote of the day started out by being obedient to God, and God has been so faithful in providing every single day.  I remember in 2007 when God had placed the desire for me to write in my heart.  I struggled with the idea, since I wasn’t a writer at the time.  I continued to be obedient in writing daily for the few e-mail addresses that I had at the time, and in February of 2007 God had given me the vision of a website.  Kind of funny, because computers was my second weakness.  I didn’t take too many classes in school, I think I did the minimum required, but God always provides the tools needed to carry out His plan.  I shared with Jeff the vision that God had given me and I remember him clearly saying “yeah Christy, God hasn’t shared that with me yet:)”  On September 7, 2007, that’s the time I remember so vividly hearing God say this to me, “It’s time for you to launch Quote of the day via the website”.  I went to Jeff and before I could tell him, he already knew, I didn’t even have to say anything and he confirmed what God had shared with me back in February.  I prayed to God and asked what next?  God then placed a person named Mo on my mind and told me to call him.  Mo simply directed me to a site where Quote of the day was birthed.  On September 10, 2007, Quote of the day was launched via the website and God has been faithful every single bit of the way!

I can honestly say that with prayer, seeking God, and total obedience, viewers began with about 1,000 per month on the average and in one year God doubled that number to 2,000 per month, not to mention the regular e-mails that are sent out and now on two myspace accounts.  Quote of the day has reached many places across the globe and prayerfully many have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, all for the Glory of God.  I get so excited seeing all that God is doing and being a part of it, used as His vessel, which continues to light me on fire every single day.

As God begins to propel us into the phase of this ministry, which is the start of His new church, He already has begun the process, by planting the vision and putting the right people in our path at the right times.  I don’t know how everything is going to come about, but I do know that God shared with me that the church will be open in 2009.  I, just like the last time when He planted the vision of Quote of the day in my heart, can’t begin to understand how and when it’s going to happen, I just know that it is and until it happens, I will remain faithful and obedient to God in this next journey.  Thank you to all who have supported this ministry!

Quote of the day: Michael P. Greene

“The desert is seemingly void of all life, but given a little rainfall, life springs into existence and beauty.  Life is there, but it is dormant.  Unbelief is like that.  It is the desert of ones being.  But the potential for life is there and needs only to be watered by faith to spring into existence and beauty.”

Bible verse of the dayHebrews 10:23

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.”

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being so faithful in what You promise.  Father, Quote of the day started as a vision that You gave me.  I didn’t know what I was doing, I just knew that You planted that desire deep within my soul and now that vision has come to pass and is used for Your Glory to reach many people.  Father, I can’t even begin to understand how You do things, I just know that it always gets done and it gets done in a way that continually amazes me.  Father, my passion in life to serve others, has become so great.  My heart continues to grow daily for people and I thank You for that , for that was an answered prayer.  Father, I pray for protection over my family as I know Satan doesn’t like this one bit and wishes to only destroy that which is good.  I pray for my family to be a beacon of light to those that don’t know You, that they too can have a personal relationship with You.   I pray to be used as Your vessel spreading the Truth and sharing with others all that You have done for me.  I thank You for this website, for our future church, and for my life!

In Jesus Name I pray,

God’s words and time table, not mine

blue-hills.jpg                                                                                                                                                                                                Story of the day:  God’s words and time table, not mine

I usually get up every morning, do my quiet time with God, and then write for Quote of the day.  Lately, God has been showing me that it’s not always going to work like that.  I am a scheduled person and like to do things the same everyday.  God has now been telling me to wait on Him, which I usually try to do, but lately, I have been struggling because when I am ready to write, God has been telling me to wait.  So, I first want to apologize for not getting the quotes out as early as I had every morning, but at the same time, I don’t apologize for God telling me to wait, because through my waiting, God has shown me that His timing is perfect.

Not only is His timing perfect it is everything!  As I was reading in the book of Jeremiah last night, I began to notice just how important His timing truly is.  There are times that I think that Quote of the day is ready to go out for the day and God says, no wait.  And I ask God, are You sure?  Like He needs me to ask Him.  Again I always hear crickets and imagine Him standing over me, and looking at me like I look at my children when they’ve asked me a question like that.  And although the waiting has been uncomfortable and challenging to me, I see the importance of why He had me wait.

Have you ever wondered what you were going to say to someone about Christ and were afraid that you didn’t know exactly what to say and when to say it?  That has been my dilemma my whole life.  It’s not that I was afraid of telling people about God, it’s just I didn’t know where in the Bible to look.  Along with that were struggles with reading.  I have always had to read things a couple of times to make sure that I got it, so I thought, well if I am struggling with saying things and reading things, maybe I should write it down, but even that was so hard for me.  Give me a math problem, since I love math, and I could figure it out, but with writing, my thoughts would speed past me and my hand’s couldn’t write it down fast enough before they became just a memory.  And even though these things were always hard for me, God is amazing in that He took the things that I struggled with the most and turned them into a strength for His glory!

God began to show me in Jeremiah last night just how impecable His timing is.  It is so perfect that He knew that I would be writing this right now even before I was born.  Jeremiah 1:4-5,7b-9  says this:  “Then the Word of the Lord came to me, saying:  Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”  For you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak.  Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord.  Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me:  “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.”

I stand amazed every single day that He puts into my mouth the words that He will have me write and does so in a way that ministers to me, the one that is doing the writing. It has come full circle to me understanding my purpose even during the times that I didn’t understand it.    And as long as I continue to do what He has asked of me and to remember that it’s all on God’s time table, and not mine, then no matter what time I get Quote of the day sent off during the day, I now know that it will be sent on His perfect time, whenever that may be.

Quote of the day:  Esther Fields

“Things don’t just happen to us who love God,

They’re planned by His own dear hand,
Then molded and shaped, and timed by His clock,
Things don’t just happen–they’re planned.

Bible verse of the day:  Jeremiah 1:9

“Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me:  “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.”

Dear Heavenly Father,

Your timing is so perfect.  I am so grateful that You have been showing this to me in the last few weeks.  And although I may want things a certain way, I know that it’s not my way that counts, but Yours.  Let me be reminded daily that waiting on You is a gift that You have given to me. The gift has been teaching me patience, the value of Your time and not mine, and how to deal with struggles in my life.  Thank You that before I was born You already had Your words ready for me to use.  The words will be used to glorify Your name and to teach others about You.  God, I have looked at myself and have often asked why You have chosen someone that has had struggles with writing to do Your will, and with Your great response You said,  “Christy with your weakness, your struggle, I have turned it around, and made into a strength.  I want others to see that it’s okay to have weakness, because in my eyes, as I begin to change their weakness into a strength, they too will see the great things that I am doing in their life, and know that it is from Me.  They just have to want to love Me and allow Me to start a work in them, and from My work that I am doing, they will see how much I love them.” God, that touched my heart and continues to minister to me. I thank You for Who You are and for sharing this with me today.  Father, I love You so much.  When I wake up to when I go to sleep my thoughts are always on You and as You reach down from Heaven daily and “touch your hand to my mouth,” I know that I have been given exactly what You want me to say and it will be done on Your time table and not mine.  I thank You for this day!

In Jesus Name  I pray,
